The Story
This track started February 2026, It started in a very uncommon way for me to find my songs typically, I was at one of my friends home studios and he had this drum loop that I had played some chords over and it sounded smooth, just started as an instrumental demo and I kinda just made that, rendered it, and listened to it. One day a couple weeks later, maybe even a month or two, this melody had popped up in my head, I would sing it over top of these guitar chords without any lyrics yet. I finally got a few lyrics in there and I went to my studio and re-recorded everything, changed the tempo as well to make it a bit faster and this track unfolded very quickly after that into what it is now. I really love the songwriting on this one, to me personally I wrote it about feeling different or separate from the people or world around you, feeling like an βAlienβ, about the struggles of daily life, trying and failing, while keeping the lyrics vague enough to have silent meaning to me and have interpretive meaning to the audience, however it may apply.
Lyrics
Daily monotone and music's overplaying I thought at least by now we'd be colored in and shaded I wash away our drawings on the pavement That we'd spend hours on just to reset and remake it Why do you still go? Why even hold on You oughta be exhausted Even oxygen is toxic to you Yeah I was wrong Thought we're the same I'm an alien Oh an alien Aren't you scared of me Ohh You ask me about my daily life Why, why Well I swear I try I swear I try I don't wanna go and have that conversation I don't wanna be a lean on for foundation It's nothing new to me, I'm not new to me I wish I fit this certain way you have this view of me Why do you still go? Why even hold on You oughta be exhausted Even oxygen is toxic to you Oh, I was wrong Thought we're the same I'm an alien Oh an alien Aren't you scared of me Oooo
