The Story
A few days after my daughter Marisol was born, I played the annual "IslandFest" event in Isla Mujeres with Sunny Jim and Kelly McGuire. For years, I had sung harmony to this incredible song, "Daddies and Daughters", but on that night at IslandFest, Kelly told me, "You have a daughter now. YOU sing it!" Ever since then, it's taken on extra special meaning for me, as I know it does for any guy out there who has a little girl, even if she's now all grown up! How cool that years later, on my "Lupita's Taco Stand" album, we could record a DUET version of this beautiful song together!
