The Story
Sheila made a Facebook post seeking to spark a spontaneous pub crawl. But in writing the words "Bar Hopping," she left out a "p." Whether it was a misspelling or a typo, I thought, hey, that's not a bad idea - a pub crawl for only happy, hopeful, optimistic people - no buzzkills, no angry drunks, no talking politics! I'm surprised no one thought of this typo before!
Lyrics
I had a craving for some company and alcohol / So I wrote an invitation on my digital wall / To ask if any friends would like to go for a crawl, bar hopping / But the old laptop, it had some sticky keys / Serendipitously printed only one of the P’s / To make the best typo in recent history, we’re bar hoping / So have another shot of positivity / Before we leave Point A on the way to Point B / Come and take a walk and have another drink with me / We’re bar hoping / Were looking forward to looking forward / Taking the high road to the bright side / One happy hour on every corner / And it all starts when we arrive / Ken sips high spirits from rose-colored glasses / Sue toasts to springtime with a white wine spritz / Tom grabs his camera as Debbie flashes / The whole damn bar with her huge smile These days it seems that anytime you go out at night / Someone’s drunk and talking politics and picking a fight / And a guy is getting punched because he drank a Bud Light, I’m heartbroken / But now we’re boasting and toasting all the good things to come / With a maraschino cherry soaked in coconut rum / If you’re feeling optimistic, maybe you should come along, bar hoping / We’re playing cornhole and singing Karaoke / We’re shouting “Cheers, y’all” and drinking Miller Lite / Some say it tastes great, some say less filling / But we can all be friends tonight / We’re looking forward to looking forward / Taking the high road to the bright side /One happy hour on every corner / And it all starts when we arrive
