St. Somewhere was recording their first album in Knoxville. Tod Sheley somehow got OG Coral Reefer Fingers Taylor to agree to play on the record so Paul booked the Cave (Brent Truitt’s studio) in Nashville for the session. after playing the songs he was scheduled to record, he gave the boys a couple gifts. first he sat at the piano and showed them how he got the nickname “Fingers” then he told Randy to go back in the drum booth and he made up a song on the spot calling it the “St. Somewhere Boogie. a day that will live large in the bands best memories.
