Brent Burns is a trop-rock singer-songwriter often called the poet laureate of the beach. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Arizona, he settled in Gulf Shores, Alabama, in 1972 and was named Official Music Ambassador of the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau in 2006. His signature song 'I've Got a Beach in My Backyard' (2009) won Trop Rock Music awards for CD and Song of the Year, and his albums include 'My Jukebox at the Beach' (2019), 'Somewhere South of Here' (2021), and 'Lot of Beaches to Go' (2022).
