Jimmy Parrish is a native Floridian and Jacksonville-based trop-rock singer-songwriter known for an island-style, acoustic-rock sound influenced by Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, and Zac Brown. He has performed solo and with his band, Jimmy Parrish & The Waves (originally the Ocean Waves Band, formed in 2000), for over thirty years. The group has won the Trop Rock Music Association Horizon Award and once opened for Kenny Chesney after winning the 2008 Next Big Star contest.
